[classy=box2]♠ HISTORY[/classy][STYLE=font-family: tahoma; font-size: 10px; color: 292929;]
Akio was born in Japan, into a family of renowned pianists consisting of one older brother, a mother and a father.
His parents were strict no-nonsense people with no sense of humor and an impossibly unrealistic sense of over-perfectionism. They stood straight, sat straight and even talked like robots in the most humanly exciting occasions. His father, a wealthy composer and pianist, was often compared to Frankenstein in his youth. Akio's mother was a little less strict than that. She held the straight attitude, of course, but showed rare sparks of kindness from time to time. Together, this pair prevented both their children from any immature antics. It was like living in a mansion cell block.
Nevertheless, parents were parents. Akio's guardians genuinely believed they were doing what was best for their children. They were supportive and encouraging in their own dysfunctional little way, yet their cold distant attitude left a lonely lingering feeling around the household, which in turn molded Akio's cynical playboy personality he has today. While his parents were rich enough to buy a large residence as well as provide for anything Akio may need, the blonde boy and his older brother went through a most uneventful childhood. Practicing piano every day blissfully unaware of any 'curses'… all the way up until high school.
The first girl that approached and embraced Akio was a foreigner who went by the name Elena Saunders, a complete stranger to Akio until that fateful day.
You see, a few days before Akio's piano recital he was practicing in the school's music room. It was a complete surprise to him when three senior students stepped in out of the blue. They were steaming mad, ready to throw punches, going on about Akio stealing the interests of 'their girls'. The whole situation was but a blur to Akio, who suspected nothing more than a misunderstanding.
Thirty minutes later, Akio's family received a call in their grand home. They were called to be by their youngest son's side in the hospital, who had suffered great injuries from a brutal assault. With swollen eyes the family arrived by Akio's hospital bed, staring at the unconscious boy through swollen eyes. His father had wound down his usual strict appearance, only barely holding in the rage for those who did this to his son. The three senior students had been caught and suspended, but that wasn't enough for the older brother, who was the first to hear the fact that Akio may just be stuck in a coma for the rest of his life.
Their visit was short, for Akio's parents were busy people, and his older brother had exams to study for. As they stepped out of the hospital room, they passed Elena sitting on the waiting chairs nearby, watching, with eyes just as swollen as Akio's older brother.
Akio's energetic and artistically intelligent disposition gained him a large amount of unwanted attention and popularity at school. The kind, pretty girl that is Elena, who would've passed as just another pretty face, was particularly infatuated with him. Yet Akio's sheer popularity, combined with her unwillingness to attract too much attention, made the blonde boy seemed all the more out of reach. Elena silently kept her feelings close to her heart, never letting them slip once around Akio. She doubted that he even knew she existed.
With tears threatening to fall she decided to sneak into his room one more time. One more time to see the boy she never got to approach, and say goodbye, one last time.
Meanwhile, with bandages still wrapping a majority of his body in the hospital room, Akio, whose head ached dully from a heavy blow, stirred and awoke to the antiseptic smell of the hospital's white walls. His half-lidded blue eyes immediately fell onto Elena's personage at the doorway. Her normally enthusiastic amber eyes, wide with shock as well as relief, let their pent up tears flow freely down the sides of her face as she ran to Akio's bedside, kneeling and crying a river into his hospital sheets. Now Akio was never a believer of strange things like 'love at first sight', but it happened nonetheless.
"You're awake… you're okay now, right? You're okay now."
"You know what? I think I am." Akio laughed a weak laugh, his lips trying their best to curve up into a smile. It felt strange, but it seemed as though he had known the girl for the entirety of his life-- but that's when things started getting difficult. Elena reached up to embrace Akio-- and the moment her arms wrapped around his neck, a puff of white smoke appeared, and before she knew it, she faced a little lion cub with a glossy mane and an attitude. Despite having just met her, Akio saw Elena get her memories erased personally by the Terumi Family's hypnotist through pained eyes and a heavy heart soon after.
For several days, none of the events that transpired made any sense to Akio, whose personality had drained away from him since the erasing of Elena's memories. One evening soon after, he was visited by another Terumi family member. After having his eyes opened and exposed to the truth, Akio refused to see visitors for a whole week. The nurses fretted over his well-being, oftentimes forcing him to eat. His older brother tried to scale the hospital's walls, but failed time after time. His parents kept their heads up high, but in their hearts they hoped for Akio's full recovery.
A full week later, Akio found himself waving Elena goodbye in the departure hall of the airport. After having her memories erased, she deemed it best to return to America, her homeland, to study there. It's easy for Akio to say from this point onwards, that he has not 'loved' anyone ever since.
Akio himself had a few farewells to receive, for his parents and older brother were also there to see off his moving into the Terumi main branch house. Now, he has a new life and a new curse. As Leo the Lion of the Terumi family.
