[classy=box2]♠ HISTORY[/classy][STYLE=font-family: tahoma; font-size: 10px; color: 292929;]Born in the Spring to his parents, Sakurai was named after his mother's favorite flower, cherry blossoms, and a well. She called him the "well that takes away my sorrows". He was never a happy child though, despite his mother's love of him. It was because of his father, Katashi, that he became who he is. His father was an alcoholic. He drank from early in the morning, to late into the night. His mother, Emiko, was the God of the Sohma family at that point in time. However, no one but Sakurai knew what happened.
His father always came home late at night. Emiko always sent young Sakurai to his room early, but he never stayed in there. When Katashi would come to Emiko's room, drunk to the point where he couldn't think straight, Sakurai would creep to his mother's room and watch through the crack in the door as the man beat his wife. Sakurai never considered him his father. When his father would leave, Sakurai would hide until he passed before going to comfort his mother and tend to her wounds, despite how young he was.
The older Sakurai got, the more protective of his mother he became. He started standing up against his father, preventing him from hurting her, but instead getting himself hurt. The longer it went on, the more anger he built up against the man. He began to question why any Higher Power would let anything like this happen to his people. Eventually he came to the conclusion that it was fate. One day, around his twentieth year, Sakurai came home to find that his mother had been killed. And by none other than Katashi.
Angry that the man had raised his hand against her, he went to the bar he knew his father would be at, he followed him until he left. Once the man had gotten to a secluded place, Sakurai had stopped him... and killed him. He didn't regret what he had done, but he hid the evidence, making it look like the man had just disappeared. No one ever knew that the man that they then named their God was the murderer of his father. They never knew that Katashi was a bad man.
However, from that point on, he was always different. His personality had changed, and the people around him knew it. He didn't keep friends, he never had, but he never pushed them away, either. His views had become... "complicated". He wanted to lead the Sohma Family how he thought it should be led, without anyone telling him otherwise.
When the Curse began anew once more, he was far from surprised. When the Cat was revealed, he promptly banished him, though later decided that he would have preferred to keep him locked up. After all... He would only cause trouble. But the oppurtunity never presented itself, and since he didn't come to meetings or family events, Sakurai was never able to catch him. That caused an irritation from the man against the boy.
