Kukai as a little boy remembered growing up around the Sohma's. He was, at that time, unaware that he too had been cursed by the Zodiac. All of the animals had appeared in a child at a young age when they were hugged. Kukai, believed, he was safe from the cursing of the Sohma family. He didn't fight with any of them though.
That was when everything changed. Kukai was going to a normal school. Girls everywhere. It would be the day he turned 6 that things wouldn't be normal anymore. Kukai would be trying to help someone and end up being hurt in the process. A girl had fallen and the boy had gone to catch her. Little did he know that upon the catch he would change. He did.
Everyone stared in horror at the little silver almost blue colored cat. Kukai shrunk away from the students. All of them, had their memories erased later that day. Kukai honestly hadn't understood. He didn't understand why he was cursed now. All the animals had been taken. Then, he found out from the Sohma family leader. The cat had been exiled from the Zodiac. In turn, Kukai was banished.
Kukai felt betrayed. He became a loner and a wanderer. He didn't talk much and did what he wanted. His mother would check up on him once in a while. She was all he had left. Never knowing his father made things tough on Kukai. It was soon after his 13th birthday that his mother passed away from an illness. Kukai was truly alone now.
Kukai constantly tried to win favor of his family. He was an outcast though. He could never see any of his old friends or ever come back. Eventually the cat stopped trying. He ignored the Sohma family after a while. When they tried to check on him he refused and never came to any of the meetings. He became a stray cat. This doesn't stop him from attending the local school though. He still doesn't respect the wishes of his family and to this day still lives among normal humans, including females...
